ABOUT TQ!
I grew up in Baltimore City, where my afternoons were spent at the Baltimore School for the Arts, painting, rearranging, and somehow finding a way to add color to everything in our house. Art was never just a hobby, it was how I understood the world. I graduated with a passion for art and portfolio after portfolio. But, life would soon lead me down a separate and wonderfully different path.Summers were spent on the Severn River “Severn Blue” where I played every sport imaginable, built things, created constantly, and had the privilege of selling my work at our community boutique. Looking back, creating was woven into every part of my childhood. It surrounded me. My mother, a painter, actress, and singer filled our home with crafts, fairy houses tucked into the garden, and an art room in the basement where making something was simply part of everyday life. My father is an actor with a handy eye. My uncle is a poet, playwright and an entrepreneur. And my aunt, and artist in the kitchen, the best chef. My family has spent a lifetime deeply loving the arts, curating what I would describe as the most impressive collection of anyone, a collection of people. Their homes full of old books, stain glass, cross-stitch, sculpture, crayon drawings on the wall, and houses full of love. All of these people continue to instill a deeply personal and an unwavering belief in creative people.Life eventually led me toward my other passion; golf. Over the past ten years, I’ve spent most of my time at the golf course building a career as a golf professional through the LPGA and PGA, working alongside some of the most talented professionals in the country. That journey carried me away from the water and the city I had always called home, landing me in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Charlottesville, Virginia, a place I have since fallen in love with. Golf has given me far more than a career. It has introduced me to incredible people, challenged me in unexpected ways, and taught me the importance of relationships, tradition, and storytelling. Somewhere along the way, I realized I was still finding ways to be an artist, even without a paintbrush in hand.Over these ten years I traded my paintbrushes for scorecards but it was always with the hopes of getting back to the creative roots I was raised with. I am eager to trade my golf strokes for paint strokes and utilize my imaginative passions, love of life, and ability to create and build works of art that inspired the creative lens from which I view the world. This space is where all of those pieces come together, the city and the mountains, the river and the fairways, childhood curiosity and adult perspective. The work you'll find here isn't about fitting into one style. It's a collection of stories, memories, vintage finds, layered textures, photographs, paint, and the beautiful display of my life. Something Else Entirely?
I love to paint, craft, build with power tools, design on fabric, and create in just about any way I can imagine!
I love figuring out how to bring an idea to life, especially when it doesn't come with instructions.
